2024 Empro Classic Results [LIVE UPDATES] – Fitness Volt (2024)

The annual 2024 Empro Classic took place June 15-16 in Alicante, Spain. This competition, headlined by the Men’s Open division, featured seven other categories including Classic Physique, Men’s Physique, Bikini, Women’s Bodybuilding, Figure, Women’s Physique, and Wellness.

Here is a quick overview of who took home titles over the weekend at the Empro Classic:

Boasting a stacked lineup of Men’s Open talent, fans were eager to welcome competitors to the stage. This show was an Olympia qualifier for the 2024 season, meaning the winners guaranteed their passage to the sport’s biggest event of the year, slated for Las Vegas, Nevada on October 10-13.

Last year, Michal ‘Krizo’ Krizanek earned gold thanks to his freaky muscularity and improved conditioning. However, to replicate that success over the weekend, he was tasked with facing a deep talent pool that included former two-time Arnold Classic titleholder William Bonac and Behrooz Tabani, a surging Men’s Open Pro known for his shredded physique.

Men’s Open Bodybuilding

It was a thrilling night in Spain with some competitors bringing all-times best packages. From the moment he hit the stage during prejudging, Bonac, a former two-time Arnold Classic champion emerged as a frontrunner. His density and improved conditioning showed fans in the finals that he could certainly be a factor atop the Olympia stage. Bonac last took seventh at the 2023 Arnold Classic.

Meanwhile, Krizo looked outstanding but many were quick to point out his diminished lat definition and mass. His legs were deeply separated but his abs left the door open for Behrooz Tabani, who is revered for his conditioning levels head to toe. Tabani last won the 2023 Arnold Classic South America show and looked almost flawless this weekend. Ultimately, William Bonac won first with Tabani ending the show as the runner-up. Michal Krizaneck took bronze.

Men’s Classic Physique

Classic Physique contenders were determined to stand out from the pack over the weekend. Among the favorites to take home gold was Jose Manuel Munoz Quiles, a third-place finisher at the 2023 Bigman Spain Pro Show. Boasting improved muscle density and dry conditioning, he aimed to leave no doubt on the judges’ scorecards.

However, Luca Reger from Germany also looked astounding, complete with a balanced structure and capped shoulders. He last competed and won at the 2024 Germna Classic Pro Show, so he had less pressure on him to perform given that he already secured his Olympia ticket. By the end of the finals, judges awarded Jose Manuel Munoz Quiles the victory. Luca Reger and Mustafa Yildiz claimed second and third.

Men’s Physique

Matheus Nery Oliveira was on a mission to secure gold. Right out of the gate, fans and judges took notice of his strong posing routine, which made his back shots all the more impressive. On top of that, he displayed refined conditioning levels complemented by fresh muscle.

In Oliveira’s way Men’s Physique staple Sidy Pouye. Representing Spain, Pouye came into this contest looking to make a statement. His abdominal control and conditioning were on another level, contributing to his success. Pouye last appeared at the 2023 Olympia contest but was unable to place in the top 15. This time around, Sidy Pouye pulled off the big win. Matheus Nery Oliveira and Fabian Feber took second and third place.

Women’s Bodybuilding

Despite a sparse lineup of Women’s Bodybuilding competitors, the participants delivered perhaps one of the most exciting contests of the night. From intense routines to nail-biter posedowns, picking a winner was challenging, so no one was envious of the judges in this particular event. Nadia Capotosto stood out in the finals, and she displayed exceptional muscle volume and conditioning. She last took third place at the 2024 Toronto Pro Supershow.

Meanwhile, Martina Lopez gave it her all on stage, and with newfound symmetry and balance, fans were in for a battle. Lopez last appeared on stage at the 2024 Tripe O Dynasty Pro in fifth place. After a solid back-and-forth show, Nadia Capotosto clinched first place! Martina Lopez finished second and Vanesa Lloría Santana claimed third.

Figure

Figure talent impressed throughout prejudging, with a few top threats solidifying their name on the totem pole: Jenny Kurth and Lena Ramsteiner. Ramsteiner has been a fixture in the budding division, having laid claim to gold recently at the 2024 Toronto Pro Supershow — so it was safe to say she felt confident and full of momentum this weekend.

Looking to fast-track her way to Olympia was Jenny Kurth. She attended this event last year but found herself in 15th place. Her improvements on display were extraordinary. Although her look was beyond her best, Lena Ramsteiner cemented herself as the champion. Kurth took second Nadine Claudia Huber claimed third.

Women’s Physique

Women’s Physique contenders got straight to business. The shredded physique of Sandra Knezevic was one to watch and she made that apparent rather quickly with a confident posing routine and great symmetry. She competed at the 2018 Romania Muscle Fest Pro and carved out a 16th-place showing.

Then, there was Paula Ranta, a Women’s Physique staple who was aiming to earn her qualification for Olympia. She brought an impressive look and competed at the 2023 EVLS Prague Pro but was unable to secure a spot in the top 15. With a newfound determination, Sandra Knezevic pulled off the win. Paula Ranta and Julia Schrade took second and third.

Bikini

Regardless of which Bikini contest is on the table, they are always cutthroat and highly competitive. The nuances of this division are what make it so great and athletes understand it and adjust their training and diet based on meaningful feedback.

In the running for first was Antonia Pettersson, thanks to her poise, aesthetics, and shape. Pettersson is a force to be reckoned with on stage, having nailed down a third-place finish at the 2023 Fitness Authority Poland Pro.

Aside from Pettersson, Rukiye Solak was another top name to keep an eye out for. She pushed into center stage a few times with a really pleasing look. Taking seventh place in her last show at the 2023 T.R.U. Athlete Pro, Solak is a known threat of the category. In this outing, Antonia Pettersson got the better of her. Solak took second and Lisa Reith rounded out the podium in third.

Wellness contenders pulled out all the stops as they aimed to earn passage to the sport’s biggest event of the year. Leonida Ciobu, a well-known contender in the category, shined from the moment she walked down the stage for prejudging. She entered this show with an incredible amount of hype and promise after winning gold at the 2024 Arnold Classic UK show.

Danai Theodoropoulou, on the other hand, was another top-tier talent from the category. The Greece-born bodybuilder is great at identifying shortcomings and fixing them. Danai Theodoropoulou narrowly missed out on gold recently at the 2024 Everest Muscle Show Pro. It was a close one, but Leonida Ciobu won first. Danai Theodoropoulou settled for second and Catarina Sousa claimed third.
