I heart… my KitchenAid Cook Processor!

This is the best kitchen appliance I have bought in years.

And believe me, I have bought quite a few as a full time food blogger.

But this one is hands down the best.

I use it every single day.

No kidding.

So why choose for the KitchenAid Cook Processor?

You can find many reviews about kitchen appliances.

However my is purely my own personal opinion. I wasn’t paid by KitchenAid or sponsored in any way to write this review.

On the contrary even.

I just wanted to write this down to help out people who might be thinking about buying one.

So here we go.

First off, some positive points that pop up in my head right away.

Positive

  • the KitchenAid Cook Processor Artisan is a beautiful machine, what an elegant piece of art in my kitchen
  • it is easy to clean, some parts are dishwasher proof
  • what a powerful blender!
  • great standard cooking programs (I love the steam and stew program)
  • also included: a handy little cookbook with mouth watering recipes (more recipes on the Cook Processor website)

So let me talk a little more about those recipes then.

Recipe Cookbook

I tried almost all of them by now I think.

First one was the carrot and ginger soup. And that worked like a charm. What a delicious soup. This little recipe booklet is a great manual to learn how to cook with the KitchenAid Cook Processor.

After a couple of weeks I started to make some personal recipes that were not in the cookbook and I was amazed about how quickly I picked up that pace of choosing the right program.

KitchenAid Cook Processor programs

So what are the programs that I use the most then?

The stew and steam programs. Steaming mussels or clams for instance is a huge success here. And both the hubs and I love a good stew so great thing about the KitchenAid Cook Processor is the fact that it stirs all by itself.

Another feature I use almost daily: the MultiBlade!

As I mentioned before: what a powerful blender. Onions, almonds, soaked raw chickpeas, fresh herbs… you name it. The MultiBlade cuts through it like butter. Press the Pulse button for just a couple of seconds and there you go. A no brainer. A piece of cake and it also saves me quite some time chopping!

Price

True, the KitchenAid Cook Processor Artisan is not cheap.

I paid 950 euros (1100 dollars) for it.

But I don’t regret it for one single second.

I love it.

NEW Update!

KitchenAid updated their KitchenAid Cook Processor recently: the lid was redesigned!

I am so happy that KitchenAid Europe sent me the new lid to try out and boy, what a different it makes. The official name for the new lid is the KitchenAid Cook Processor Hinged Chef Lid 5KZLA12.

I can’t tell you how excited I am about the new lid!

So excited in fact that I got rid of the old one so fast before I could actually make a comparison here. Fortunately a friend of mine and KitchenAid Cook Processor fan Eric made a little Youtube video about the two lids.

Here it is!

Video

Summary

Great video, right?!

So here is a little summary of the advantages of the new lid then:

  • the double lock is so secure, I love it!
  • the measuring cup is gone (I never used that one to be very honest) and mine also showed the same frosting like in the video + the plastic was cracked here and there because the cup would fall out when opening the lid
  • you can remove the center to let the steam out or pour in extra liquids while cooking
  • and the most important advantage: the lid comes out perfectly clean after washing it in the dishwasher, no food bits are trapped in places you can’t reach
